Only a politician who does not want to be elected again will remove caste based reservations for Govt. posts. If you read Krishna’s statements in the same article, you can see that he wants caste based reservations even in private sector.

Yes, but Murthy the nitwit is all for economic status-based reservation in the darn private sector. Tomahto, Tomayto.
Private companies are there to be profitable. They should not be told whom to hire and not. To me, what matters is the competence of the person I’m hiring, not whether he’s a millionaire or not. I wonder if Infosys will stop hiring good software engineers and only hire poor ones.
We’re supposed to be in the 21st century, but we sure don’t show signs of it.
Madman, valid point. Everyone in India gets free primary education right. So once that is completed, education wise everyone is on the same page. After that let the brilliant ones get the job. Why even bother with any sort of reservation. Anywhere the selection should be only by merit.
Well they say everybody has equal rights.The reservation policy clearly violates the very esence of this fact.Reservation only kills the competition!To add to it people who come through reservation say that they didn’t prepare well for the competition.Ask them why?And they will spring a surprise on you when they’ll say they know it is easy for them so why bother workin hard.Such is the situation and attitude of these so called students.Its disheartning!The only basis for reservation i feel should be economic.Rest is all rubbish!!!Simply what u will call as VOTEBANK POLITICS!!!
