Kerala is a state where there are no industries. Most malayalis work in the gulf countries and the economy is sustained based on the NRI remittances. But the tourism industry is doing wonders there and Paul McCartney can vouch for it. This is good. As more people earn income from tourism which cannot tolerate disruption, it might affect the political parties who call hartals (since bandh is banned) every other day.

Amazing state kerala..beautiful locales…honestly beauty as far as the eye can see. highest literacy rate in india has helped its tourism industry as well.

Itis amazing how I have been sighseeing to several parts of the world but my own backyard of Kerala still remains unexplored.

Any progress that Kerala makes is actually a plot by the CIA to deprive the country of the 8 billion dollar worth of foreign remittances that will stop if all Mallus find jobs in Kerala and stop going to the Gulf.

This will sound naive but what makes Kerala beautiful is the lack of industry. Ultimately development will happen and hopefully in some sustained manner but it’s a beautiful place because there’s no real big cities to think of.
Incidentally while I live in Seattle and raised mostly in the US, my parents are from Trichur and I lived there for a while and have been there many times.
